Assistant Nurse Manager
NASC GLOBAL, a leading HR Consulting and Management firm, is excited to support the search for an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager, OR for our valued client in San Jose, CA. Position Overview:
As the Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room, you will oversee daily clinical operations and ensure high-quality patient care while managing staff development and compliance with regulations. This role is vital in fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient safety and operational excellence.
Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $186,900 to $267,200, contingent on experiences, skills, tenure, education, certifications. A sign-on bonus available for external candidates. Additional benefits include a comprehensive health plan, retirement options, and opportunities for annual merit increases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily clinical operations, including staffing, payroll, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies.
- Develop and implement action plans for staff development and unit improvement.
- Supervise unit operations, including human resource management, safety, and risk management programs.
- Monitor patient care to ensure coordinated treatment plans and cost-effective services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers across departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Resolve patient and family concerns regarding care quality.
- Research and implement best practice models to improve unit performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., charge nurse, preceptor, or quality improvement).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; high school diploma or GED required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License (not temporary); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care processes, staffing, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced education (MSN, MHA, MBA) or CNOR designation.
- Experience scheduling teams and working in unionized environments.
- Strong preference for candidates with operating room experience.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Calm under pressure with strong leadership abilities, especially in training newer nurses.
