Overview:
In this critical role, you will calculate and prepare cost estimates for HVAC projects in both residential and commercial sectors. Your expertise will ensure accurate project evaluations and timely bids by collaborating closely with project managers and contractors.
Compensation
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $100,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this critical role.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and architectural plans to assess HVAC needs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, covering materials, labor, and timelines for HVAC installations and upgrades.
- Consult with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure precise pricing on materials and services.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to clarify project details and requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and client satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyze job costs to inform future estimates and budgets.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of bids and proposals.
- Stay current with industry trends, HVAC technologies, and local codes and regulations.
- Review and compare vendor bids to select optimal options for projects.
- Conduct risk analysis and advise on potential cost overruns.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in HVAC estimating or a related field, ideally within the construction industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- HVAC Knowledge: In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, materials, and labor requirements.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., QuickBooks, Jobber, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities; exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, HVAC certification) are advantageous.
