Estimator

Position Overview:
This position is office-based and reports to the Chief Estimator. The scope of work for the position involves executing computer-aided and hand take-off estimates of structural steel components. This includes an understanding of labor standard components. Tasks will include the development of supporting documentation for the preparation of a complete estimate.
The Estimator will be required to perform take-offs of all types of structural steel components and typical detail requirements. Reviewing vendor and sub-tier quotes to ensure scope compliance with contract documents is also essential.
The role involves producing estimate summaries identifying basic and special requirements for the required scope of work such as buy-out items. Additionally, the Estimator will assist in the training of Estimators in Training positions.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $60,000 to $80,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed computer-aided and manual estimates of structural steel components.
- Develop supporting documentation for complete estimates.
- Perform take-offs for various structural steel components.
- Review vendor and sub-tier quotes for compliance with contract documents.
- Produce estimate summaries identifying scope requirements, including buy-out items.
- Assist in training and mentoring Estimators in Training.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the structural steel industry in a similar role.
- Must understand means and methods of the steel fabrication and erection process.
- Must have construction experience.
- Strong experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications related to structural steel.
- Strong computer skills, with knowledge of Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural steel estimation software.
- Knowledge of construction management tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with cost analysis and budget forecasting.
Desired Certifications:
- Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or equivalent.
- American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) certification.
- OSHA Safety Certification.
